Murilo Machado is the Operations Manager at InternetLab. Holds a degree in journalism (Cásper Líbero), and a Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences (UFABC), with experience in academia, the public sector, and the non-profit sector.

Before joining InternetLab, he served as Operations Director at Open Knowledge Brazil (2020–2025), where he managed advocacy and research projects, data journalism initiatives, and the development of civic technologies—always with a focus on public transparency and data governance. He also worked as a public manager at the São Paulo City Hall, where he coordinated the Wifi Livre SP program and oversaw initiatives related to transparency, integrity, and social accountability. He has led research on cultural free software, and among his publications is the book Anonymous Brasil: Power and Resistance in the Control Society.
