Fernanda K. Martins
Director, Research and DevelopmentDirector of Research and Development at InternetLab, she is an anthropologist with a PhD in Social Sciences from Unicamp, a master’s degree in Anthropology, and a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo. She also holds a degree in Pedagogy from Faculdade Sumaré. Her journey includes scholarships from CNPq and FAPESP, and contributions to consultancies for the Projeto Guri, Plan International, and Unicef. With a solid background in education, she has worked as a teacher on projects focusing on issues of race, ethnicity, and gender inequalities for children, teenagers, and adults. Applying an intersectional approach, she published the book “A filha da Dona Lecy”, exploring the trajectory of Leci Brandão, the second black woman elected as state congresswoman of São Paulo. Her areas of interest include gender studies, ethnic-racial relations, sexuality, intersectionality, content moderation on internet platforms, internet governance, education and the internet, youth and the internet, the emergence of new digital technologies, and their social impacts. At InternetLab, she supervises research projects, represents the organization, and innovates methodologies, ensuring interdisciplinary approaches and enhancing engagement in its substantial programmatic innovation efforts.
